NCIS and NCIS LA - I cannot get enough!

OK,  When I said that tonight’s NCIS and NCIS Los Angeles would give me stuff to blog about….  I HAD NO IDEA!  Wow, just wow.

Before I begin…  for those of you who do not know  TIVA = Tony and Ziva and DENSI= Deeks and Kensi   -  I know, I am a hopeless shipper,  but what can I say…

I am going to talk about the relationship parts of both shows, there are some spoilers…  not too much revealed, but spoilers no less.  You have been warned!

NCIS

I had been hearing that the episode titled ‘Berlin’ would be full of the romantic tension they occasionally throw at us from Tony and Ziva -  and I heard right.   It started with the usual banter in the Bullpen…  but it moves to them in Berlin to find Bodnar.  First in the airplane…the hushed conversation about the case and their plan; there is something strangely intimate about it.  Then there is the scene with Tony’s obvious jealousy over Ziva’s “old friend” Adam.   Next they are in their hotel and Ziva lies down beside Tony on the bed and they talk…  to cute.   Now, let’s talk about the dance… ah the dance.  It was a cover for a bit, as she searched the room for K, but then, as she looked into his eyes – it was just the two of them.  Great moment!   The flashback to her dancing with her father was sweet and then “One day,  you will dance with a man who deserves your love”  back to present, Ziva staring deeply into Tony’s eyes….priceless.  Then the stupid bad guy makes his move…  but up until then it was wonderful.   Finally, they had the bad guy transferred to DC and are in the car heading back.  Ziva tells Tony about Orli and her Father and how she may not be the same person if not for what happened in her childhood. He tells her he needs to call Orli and thnk her.  Ziva just quietly looks at him, as he takes her hand and threads their fingers together…. So sweet.   But they can’t just give us a little TIVA - that we have waited so patiently for…  NO  they gave us some great TIVA then…  POW.   My head is still spinning from that one.  They will be dealing with this until the end of the season for sure.   I am not too worried though, haven’t heard anything about Michael Weatherly or Cote de Pablo leaving the show.  (though I did see somewhere that she has not renewed yet…)   I am hoping the writers give us a bit more TIVA as they recover, together.   This show has been on for 10 years…  we have been waiting 8 years for these two to get together…  it may be time for a little something.

NCIS Los Angeles

I was still reeling from NCIS when I began to watch NCIS LA.  The LA writers like to toy with us way more than the DC writers when it comes to the romantic tension.  They have some fun with it just about every week, some more than others. When I had heard that the NCIS episode was going to be TIVA heavy, I had not expected much in the way of DENSI this week.   I was so wrong.  NCIS LA was full of great DENSI moments!

It starts out in the Bullen with Sam asking Kensi to babysit so he can go to the Clipper’s game with G - Kensi looks so freaked…   but Deeks  jumps at the chance with, “we’ll do it!”  Kensi and Sam both turn him down…  Everyone gets on Kensi for hating kids…  Deeks looks truly disappointed.  They catch a case about a murdered drug lord in Mexico whose body is stolen out of the morgue.  Because of Navy involvement in the operation and the possibility of a leak, they are assigned to investigate the missing body.
Deeks and Kensi head to Mexico to meet with an informant who can give them some inside scoop on the case.  They are in a Mexican bar waiting to meet the drug agent who has the informant’s information -  Deeks and Kensi talk about kids again and she explains that she doesn't see wanting to bring kids into the world as it is right now.  Deeks once again offers to help her with the whole kids thing…  is it me, or do they have that conversation A LOT lately?  Their connection shows, but before he can give them all the info, he is killed and the shooters try to take the informant.  Kensi and Deeks escape out the back with the informant… a teenage singer.  The drive back to LA with the kid.  Some of the banter in the car seems a bit forced, but it was there to show Kensi and Deeks “parenting.”   The boy, Javier, asks for a lawyer…  Kensi says no and he asks why not and she pulls the “Cause I said so!” line right out of my mother’s playbook.  Deeks calls her on it and they begin to bicker.  Javier asks why they are fighting and they say, in unison, “we’re not arguing, we’re having a discussion.”  Awe… they will make such adorable parents.  (Congrats to Eris Christian Olsen, who will be a REAL parent by late summer!)  They take Javier back to the boat shed and discuss his options,  witness protection, or help them put the big boss away.  Both Deeks and Kensi reveal a bit of their daddy issues to Javier who is torn about helping them because the drug cartel boss they are after is like a father to him.   Deeks and Kensi have another moment in the boat shed observation room, while talking about Javier’s choices.  Next they are driving Javier, supposedly to his WITSEC location when they are pinned down by gunmen and Javier escapes into the arms of his drug cartel boss.  This turns out to be all part of their plan, Javier is wired and they track his location to find the drug boss.   Deeks and Kensi rescue the kid in a shoot-out and the boss is gunned down in front of the boy.  He has strong feelings as he watches his father figure die.   Kensi comforts him while Deeks looks on, seeing that Kens has a maternal instincts after all.  Back at OSP, Kensi tells Sam she will babysit his kids for him on the condition that Deeks can help her.  Deeks teases her that she wants to play house with him,  she never denies it.

I especially loved when Deeks just looks at her and says  “This? Changes everything”  - both times.

Why are there not more Tuesdays?
